Meet our team
We are a group of passionate parent, caregivers, and community members who have chosen to volunteer to bring you great events, useful resources, and important information which will help you navigate the program with confidence. We aim to bring the community closer and strengthen our bond. A place to come together and support each other.
Megan Selitrennikoff, President
Originally from the East Coast, I settled in the Seattle area about 20 years ago. My husband and I have a busy home with 2 children and 3 cats. With COVID, we were all at home, learning to juggle all of our competing needs within our four walls. Our family values include: travel, curiosity, being a contributing part of society and having fun. I was drawn to GEAC about 2-3 years ago when my daughter landed in the Quest program at Blackwell Elementary. I wanted to learn about gifted education and how families with gifted children meet their unique needs. I have had 2 roles within the GEAC org before joining with Rathi to be co-president. My goal this next year is to support our community and advocate for their needs.

My son was in K5HC and is now a 6th grader in Finn Hill Middle School. I learned a lot about 2e kids, which I didn’t know he was before GEAC. I hope this group can help more parents on their path to understand and help their kids more.
Jaime Green, Parent Education
I am a mom of two twice exceptional boys, a 4th grader in Full Time Quest and a 1st grader. Parenting a gifted or 2e child can be both rewarding and challenging. I’ve spent the past years “peeling the onion” that are my boys, full of layers, and have learned so much. I joined GEAC with the goal of helping parents get the resources/knowledge they need to understand and support their gifted and 2e kids, themselves, and their families. Also, to build community with each other. I studied fine art in college which is still a passion of mine. My prior work experience is in Diversity Program Management and Technical Recruitment.
Tsan Zheng, Grants
I have two kids in LWSD and have had extensive volunteer experiences and board experiences going through choice schools and other educational organizations. I am passionate about helping kids and education. In my spare time outside of work and volunteering, I enjoy outdoors, cooking, reading and good movies.
Rathi Sudhakara, Co-Chair Advocacy
There were two reasons that made me curious about GEAC: 1. I had learnt about the advanced program options in the district and considered my child would benefit from those. I wanted to meet other folks in the program to learn more. 2. I was really interested in the system level operations of these programs meaning - why do we have these programs in the first place? How is eligibility criteria determined? How does being or not being in a program affect the self-esteem of kids? And much more. All this stemmed from the fact that I immigrated to this country from India and was not familiar with the public education system. I am super passionate about providing high quality education to all kids and understand the difficulties of straddling equity and resources.

I joined GEAC in order to find and to contribute to communities.
Kerstin Hadelich, Communications
We count ourselves lucky to live in a place that offers differentiated support for our kids and over the past six years, our family has experienced most aspects of the highly capable program in LWSD: K5HC, Pull-out Quest, Full Time Quest and Middle School Quest. As part of GEAC, I’m excited to be able to support families with my experience, help build a strong community, and learn even more aspects of what it means to parent highly capable kids. In my free time, I most enjoy heading out - either backpacking or sailing.
